McCaskill, Manchin and Dems Running Scared

RUSH: “Nearly six in 10 Republicans say that things have changed so much they feel alienated; 42% of Democrats agree.” That’s a high number of Democrats. You know, there’s a story. I don’t know where it comes from. It was about the football game last night. Apparently… Who played? Did the Fort’inters play last night? It was Thursday Night Football. (interruption) Brian, who’d the Fort’inters play last night?

Do you remember who it was? (interruption) Who won? Who won the game? (interruption) Are you kidding? The Fort’inters wiped the Raiders off the map? (interruption) It was 34-3! I wonder if Jon Gruden is regretting going back to the NFL. Probably not since the Raiders are gonna be in Vegas next year. Anyway, that’s not the story of the game. How many…? By the way, a little aside: How long ago would you have had to go before I didn’t know who had played on a Thursday night game and who had won, and yet I just now remembered there was a game last night?

Anyway… And I like Thursday Night Football or I did. Apparently, a cheerleader… Are you ready for this? A cheerleader for the Fort’inters took a knee during the anthem. Not a player. A cheerleader. A female cheerleader took a knee, and the news of this is a Facebook post where somebody in Facebook said, “It’s wonderful. Isn’t it great that we can look at people and see people who are different and accept them and love them?” It ties with 47% of Americans feel like strangers in their own country.

There’s a reason for that, and it’s not because these 47% are a bunch of old fuddy-duddy old people who want people to get off their front yard or this kind of thing. There is an express effort to overrun the distinct American culture that’s rooted in Western Civilization, and it really is based on the blanket acceptance of, quote, “People who are different,” people who look different. And if you do that, you are a great person. You are a wonderful person, if you can accept someone who looks different.

It doesn’t matter what they do. It doesn’t matter anything else. If they look different and you can accept and hug them and love them, then that’s how we have a great society and great culture — and I have no doubt that among significant population of Millennials that’s probably true, and kind of really shallow to me. But it’s right along the lines of identity politics. So 47% of Americans feel like a stranger in their own country.

Six in Nine Swing District Voters Say Keep This Migrant Caravan Out of the Country.” Swing districts. Trump approval numbers in five swing states are 50% or over, and yet all the smart money is on the Democrats taking the House. Let’s see. “Shady Dark Money Group’s Mailers Are Attacking Josh Hawley from the Right, Benefiting Claire McCaskill.” They don’t ID who they are. It’s a violation of law. They outright lie.

What it is: “For the past week, Missouri voters have been receiving political mailers attacking Republican U.S. Senate candidate Josh Hawley from the right on issues like gun rights and his push to oust Republican Gov. Eric Greitens. Some of the mailers, like the one below, ask voters to support the independent candidate on the ballot, Craig O’Dear.”

So look, it’s politics. If there are people trying to attack Republicans “from the right,” I find it fascinating that attacks from the left aren’t working. You know, why can’t they attack Josh Hawley from the left? It’s because Claire McCaskill’s trying to horn in. McCaskill is trying to say that she is fully behind Trump on this immigration business. West Virginia’s Joe “Manchin Says Birthright Citizenship ‘Worthy of Looking At.'” Does Joe Manchin really believe this?

Does Claire McCaskill believe what she’s saying right now on the eve of the election? “Sen. Joe Manchin said Thursday that the concept of granting birthright citizenship is ‘worthy of looking at,’ but was adamant that President Trump cannot change it via executive order… ‘I think it’s worthy of looking at it.'” These people don’t mean any of this.

“Sen. Claire McCaskill has most recently shifted gears on immigration, talking tough on border issues, although months ago the lawmaker co-sponsored legislation to end all immigration enforcement.” But now she’s out there trying to say (sputtering), “Oh, yeah, you know, I’m — I’m — I’m with the president 100% on this immigration stuff — and, by the way, I voted with the president probably half the time. I — I’m — I’m not — I’m not as opposed to the president as people think.”

Why would she be saying this on the eve of the election? Well, because I think she’s acknowledging that immigration is an issue the Republicans triumph on and win on. She’s in trouble in her campaign. And what is this? Jennifer Duffy, senior editor of the Cook Political Report, said she expects Senator Claire McCaskill to lose her Senate seat. “I expect Democrats to lose Missouri.” So she thinks McCaskill’s going down the tubes.

Dave Brat Calls out Democrat Abigail Spanberger for Defending MS-13.” This is the Republican congressman in Virginia. Dave Brat “is calling out his Democrat opponent Abigail Spanberger for her defense of the violent El Salvadoran MS-13 gang in his newest ad. … Brat also calls out Spanberger for her silence on a 7,000 to 10,000 migrant caravan headed to the U.S. …” This is one of these Republican districts in a Democrat state that The Cook Report and Dan Senor and Ed Rollins all think are toast.

Project Veritas and Beto O’Rourke. Now, I mentioned this earlier in the program. “Project Veritas Action Fund has released undercover video from current congressman and U.S. Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke’s campaign. The video exposes how campaign staff appear to be illegally using resources to buy supplies and help transport Honduran aliens” on the caravan. “This is the eighth undercover video report Project Veritas has released in a series revealing secrets and lies from political campaigns” this season.

Some of the things caught on hidden video: “‘I just hope nobody that’s the wrong person finds out about this.’ ‘It’s f—ing happening.’ O’Rourke Campaign Staff Uses Pre-Paid Cards for Honduran Alien Supplies.” Another campaign staffer says, “‘Don’t ever repeat this,” in “Explain How to Hide Campaign Expenditures for Aliens.” Another says, “‘If you get caught in some sort of violation that’s like a $50,000 fine,’ ‘For me I can just ignore the rules and I’m like it.'”

So, anyway, Project Veritas with video after video of Beto O’Rourke staff members bragging and talking about how they are helping to fund the caravan. Meanwhile, Democrats all over the country are upset that Beto is not sharing any of his money with them. Claire McCaskill: Most of her money is coming from Hollywood. Beto O’Rourke? The same. Most of it is coming from Hollywood and his family.

RUSH: Okay. Sound bite 17 through 20. I just want you to hear this in their own words. I just reported this to you, but here we go. This is last night in Columbia, Donald Trump. By the way, this rally last night, there was a three-mile line of automobiles to get into this rally in Columbia yesterday. Three miles. You know how I know that? Because somebody drove through it and took a video of it driving the opposite direction.

They said it was three miles and it just kept going and going and going and going. And we get this New York Times story how the Democrats don’t want Bill Clinton anywhere near them. It’s not about Hillary, but they don’t want Bill Clinton anywhere near them. Folks, I just have to tell you something. The Drive-Bys have stopped televising these rallies. CNN, Fox are not televising them. Well, I guarantee you they have the video feed, and they have their reporters there.

When they see this kind of just mass of humanity lining up, getting there a day in advance… Last night when Trump began the rally, he couldn’t get them to quiet down so he could begin. I mean, it was just raucous. Now, admittedly Trump carried Missouri by a big margin in 2016, is very popular there. But it’s still amazing. And Democrats have nothing like this out there. They have nobody that can… (interruption) Joe Biden?

Who, by the way, Joe Biden is out encouraging union people to hit other people in the face! Amidst all these calls from Democrats for civility! But they don’t have anybody. They don’t have anybody on their presidential side. Obama can’t even draw these… You know, Obama attended a rally today for, I guess, this Gillum character. The crowds that Obama draws are…

They’re just a high school gymnasium max, and there’s nowhere near the enthusiasm and the excitement. I don’t care what happens on Tuesday; I’m just telling you the media and the Democrats look at this stuff, and they seethe. It just makes them seethe when they see you happy, they see you supportive. And they just… It hits ’em in the face how unsuccessful they have been trying to get you to hate and abandon Trump. So here’s Trump last night when they finally quieted down in Columbia.

THE PRESIDENT: In just five days, the people of Missouri are going to retire far-left Democrat Claire McCaskill —

CROWD: (cheers)

THE PRESIDENT: — who’s been saying such nice things about me. But, you know what? She’ll never vote with me. That’s the problem. She’s been saying nice things. I said, “I didn’t know she was a Republican.” She’ll never vote. She’ll never vote. She never has. And she didn’t even vote for Justice Kavanaugh. Think of that. Think of that.

CROWD: (boos)

RUSH: Right. She didn’t vote for Kavanaugh, but is now totally supportive of Trump on immigration. So last night on the Fox News Special Report with Bret Baier, he interviewed McCaskill and said, “This caravan, getting attention, senator.

MCCASKILL: Stop ’em at the border. The president has to use every tool he has at his disposal, and I 100% back him up on that. I do not want our borders overrun, and I support the president’s efforts to make sure they’re not.

RUSH: Now, what do you think Chuck You Schumer is doing when he hears her say this? I’ll tell you what Chuck You Schumer says, He says, “You better not mean that, and when this election’s over and you come back here, you better, better, better not be putting that into plan.” This is not what they believe! This is the exact opposite of what they believe. You people in Missouri, I realize that I’m a favorite son, and I realize that Missouri is my home state and I realize I’m a big guy there.

I realize that I even have a bust in the Missouri House of Representatives. I realize many people were made angry by that, a bunch of deranged leftists. But I have to tell you, whatever you think of me, Claire McCaskill is not for you anymore. She’s for the Democrat Party, and the idea that out of nowhere Claire McCaskill somehow supports the notion of stopping the caravan at the border? Find some votes in her voting record that could lead you to believe she means this, ’cause Trump was right.

She’s been saying nice things about him lately, but she’ll never vote with Trump. She’s out there saying, “I have… I… I’ve voted with the president about half the time.” If she has, it’s because she knows what the people of her state want. But this idea that “the president has to use every tool he has at his and I’m 100% back him up on that”? You think if she had been talking this way the whole campaign that she would have gotten all the campaign donations from Hollywood that she’s received?

I don’t think so. (interruption) No, no, no, no, no, no. I’m not commenting on whether she’s a good person, bad person, nice person, any of that. I’m just telling you that this is a political posture before Election Day, and it’s classic. It’s exactly how the left says what they have to say in order to camouflage or mask themselves. They cannot be honest about what they really believe. Or they wouldn’t get elected. I wouldn’t fall for this.

Here’s Joe Manchin. Now, we move on to West Virginia. It’s the same situation. This was last night in Morgantown. A live debate televised across the state. During a segment on immigration, here is Senator Manchin…

MANCHIN 2018: I have voted every time to support the border as far as securing the borders. I have voted every time and will continue to vote every time. I think the president needs to use every means possible to him. We have to have walls, at least 700 to 900 miles. We have to use all of the technology. We have to secure the ports.

RUSH: Man, oh, man. Where do we hear this outside of election cycles? And let’s go back to July 11th last year; so this is a year and a half ago, about 15 months ago. The Young Turks webcast, Senator Joe Manchin is a guest and said…

MANCHIN 2017: I’m not for building a wall. I’m not for building a wall at all.

RUSH: So July 11th, 2017, “I’m not for building a wall.” Play 19 again here. I’m not for building a wall. I’m not for building the wall at all. And yet yesterday.

MANCHIN 2018: I have voted every time to support the border as far as securing the borders. I have voted every time and will continue to vote every time. I think the president needs to use every means possible to him. We have to have walls, at least 700 to 900 miles. We have to use all of the technology. We have to secure the ports.

RUSH: I’m telling you, folks, you just have to be dubious here. You’re being pandered to. Up to you whether or not you want to accept it.

RUSH: We’ll go to Marion, Illinois. Kevin, I’m glad that you waited. Hello, sir.

CALLER: Hello, Rush. Greetings from the Land of Lincoln and the birth state of Ronald Reagan. You know, it’s interesting when you mention Claire McCaskill yesterday about this she supports Trump and the border wall it goes back to the fact that here and Illinois and we get over to the Missouri states, but mostly here in Illinois, the Democrats running at the state and local level, they’re all running on the agenda, pro-life, pro-the Second Amendment, pro-jobs. And it’s just amazing —

RUSH: Wait, wait wait… Democrats. Democrats running at the state, at a local level in Illinois are running on pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, pro-jobs?

CALLER: Yes, sir.

RUSH: Democrats are running on pro-life in Illinois?

CALLER: Yes. Yes. I’ve got a female that’s running for a state representative seat here in southern Illinois, and she’s running numerous ads on radio and TV that she specifically touts that she’s pro-life and pro-Second Amendment and pro jobs and she will fight for the people of southern Illinois, not Chicago.

RUSH: What are this woman’s chances in do you have any idea?

CALLER: I’d say they’re 50-50 right now because, you know, in southern Illinois, you have moderate Democrats that are pro-Second Amendment and pro-choice. (sic) You know —

RUSH: Now, wait a minute. Pro-choice is not pro-life. Which is it?

CALLER: I’m sorry. Pro-life. I’m sorry. Pro-life and pro-Second Amendment. Because there’s hunters, and, you know, it’s a big hunting community down here, hunting and fishing. But, yeah, that’s what they’re running on down here.

RUSH: I have to tell you, that surprises me. Democrats pro-life? I know Marion, Illinois, is not Chicago. Southern Illinois. I know right where it is. That’s… Hmm. Interesting. And she’s running neck-and-neck you say. We’ll keep a sharp eye. Look. I’m glad you called.
